Chicken Katsu for family dinner

Great dinner recipe you can make at home for family. Add a tossed salad, rice and you are done. Get the salad and dressing recipe here.




INGREDIENTS

2 lbs chicken breast

2/3 cups of flour

6 eggs

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper (optional)














 

Instructions

You will need 3 large bowls and 2 flat pans

Add oil to pan and bring to 365 degrees. If you have a small fryer now is a good time to use it.


  1. With a meat tenderizer, using the flat side pound your breast until evenly flat. About 1/2 thick. You may make thicker if you like but will take longer to cook through. Set aside.

  2. Froth six eggs in a large bowl. Mixing until well blended and froth appears on the top. Set aside

  3. Mix you flour and seasonings together in a place evenly in a sheet pan. Pour your Panko crumbs in a large bowl and set aside.

  4. You should have 1 pan of meat, 1 pan of flour, 1 bowl of eggs, and a large bowl of Panko crumbs

  5. Starting with the chicken breast dip it into the flour covering completely. Dip it into the eggs mixture and then into the Panko crumbs. Do this until all breast have been coated. You should have a pan to sit your chicken in as you dip. Resting the chicken before you fry will help the coating.
