There are different ways of preparing ganache. This recipe is for pouring. It will set up nicely after it has been poured. Great for cupcakes, cakes and pastries.
1 cup chocolate (dark, milk, white, semi)
1/2 cup heavy cream
Need more just double or triple recipe
Put you chocolate bits into a small bowl
In a microwave safe bowl heat the cream until hot to touch. You may also use your stove top and small pot.
Pour the cream on top of the chocolate bits and let it set for about 3-4 minutes. You want your chocolate to melt from the cream.
Stir and mix together until smooth. (if your cream was not hot enough your will have small bits of chocolate. Don't worry you can reheat slightly in the microwave to continue melting. Just make sure you are using a microwave safe bowl.)
Pour your ganache onto your cake, cupcake or pastry. Use a spoon it is a great tool to help if you are being more precise with your placement.
